KRAKÓW, POPRZEZ ORGANIZACJE I FESTIWALU TKANINY staje sie nowym centrum prezentacji Polskiej Szkoly Tkaniny Artystycznej, nawiazujac w ten sposób do historii z poczatków XX wieku, jak i rewolucyjnych przemian z lat 60 i 70, w których to artysci Regionu Polski Poludniowej mieli znaczny udzial. Za sprawa wielkich indywidualnosci twórczych tkanina przeksztalcila sie z formy uzytkowo dekoracyjnej w jedna z czystych dyscyplin sztuki, w której gromadza sie i splataja doswiadczenia wszystkich innych dyscyplin, budujac nowa jakosc ponad tradycyjnymi podzialami. Obecnie prezentowane cztery wystawy festiwalowe odslaniaja obszary artystycznych penetracji, dajac najpelniejszy obraz przemian i kierunków w jakie zmierza wspólczesna tkanina, a nade wszystko sztuka.

The Ist Festival of Fiber Art organized in Cracow gave birth to a new center of exhibition for the Polish School of Weaving Art., building a bridge spanning over traditions rooted in the beginning of the XXth century and revolutionary changes of the sixties and seventies in which many artists of the South Poland Region participated considerably. Driven by outstanding creative individualities, the changes led to transformation of applied decorative forms into a pure art branch in which experiences of all the other art areas are cumulated and intertwined, constructing a new quality dominating traditional divisions. The four presently opened exhibitions unveil areas of artistic penetrations, giving a most complete picture of changes and trends followed by the contemporary weaving art., and the art in short.
